Betty Jane Shick || April 1, 2015
Betty J. Shick. 92, of Fern, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, April 1, at the Clarion Hospital.
Born Betty Jane Hartzell on June 5, 1922 on the family farm in Fern, she was the daughter of the late William and Mary Hartzell.
She was the 13th of 15 children and was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Betty was a cafeteria worker at the Clarion College, she also worked at ASR Medical Supply and The Manor House in Shippenville.
She was a member of the Lions Club in Marysville and the Trinity E.C. Church in Fern.
Betty enjoyed coaching girl’s softball, watching the Pirates and Steelers and most of all spending time with the children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
On July 14, 1947, Betty married Frank “Bus” Shick who she celebrated 63 years of marriage with before his passing in 2010.
Betty is survived by her three children Mary Orsino and her husband Ken of Cranberry, Louella Reynolds and her husband Morgan of Marysville and Edward Shick and his wife Carol of N. Lima, OH, five grandchildren Blaine Shick and his wife Kelli, Michael Orsino and his wife Aimee, Renee Holman and her husband Herb, Paul E. Shick, Deana Godfrey and fiancé Dave.
Also surviving are nine great grandchildren Tylyne, Brayden, Skylur, Natanya, Amber, Izzabell, Alyssa, Delaney and Paisley.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Paul L. Shick, and her 14 brothers and sisters.
Hershel Morgan Reynolds || May 25, 2015
Hershel "Morgan" Reynolds, age 64, of Marysville, PA passed into heaven on Monday, May 25,2015 at the Hershey Medical Center with his wife at his side. Born March 3, 1951 in Richmond, VA, he is preceded in death by his parents, Pauline Reynolds Gammon and Hershel Reynolds.
Morgan is survived by his wife of 33 years, Louella Reynolds of Marysville, his daughter Renee Holman and husband, Herb, of Shermans Dale, PA, daughter Angie Reynolds of Richmond, VA, son Moe Reynolds of Richmond, VA, grandson Skylur Knobl of Carlisle, PA, and granddaughters Natanya Knobl, Amber Knobl, and Izzabell Holman of Shermans Dale, PA.
Morgan was a master painter and member of Painters and Allied Trades, Local 411, District Council 21 and was retired from M. Gordon and Sons of Harrisburg, PA. He enjoyed family, fly fishing, collecting pocket knives, and was a member of the Marysville Sportsmen's Association.
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, May 30, 2015, 3 PM, at the Marysville Sportsmen's Association grounds, 217 Kings Highway, Marysville, PA. Casual, no neck ties, please.
